When you log in the admin section, the default page is configuration.

This is OK when it's the first time you log in because you need to set up some things.

But after, when you log in the admin, the thing you're the more likely to do is write a post.

What can be done is either change the default admin page to the write post page, or add a "statistics" page displaying a short menu of "what you can do", the number of posts, comments and even inbound links using the technorati PIA.
